Flags of the African Union

Client: The Africa Center

The Africa Center engaged me to create a 45-foot, 3-story installation on their NYC building’s windows in celebration of World Africa Day. I designed a layout that seamlessly integrated the 55 African flags recognized by the African Union and the Pan-African flag into the trapezoid-shaped windows. The result was a striking display that celebrated the vibrant colors, patterns, and symbols of each flag, highlighting the rich heritage and collective strength of the African continent. This installation not only enhanced the visual appeal of the building but also served as a powerful symbol of unity and pride, attracting significant attention from both locals and tourists. The project underscored my ability to execute large-scale public art installations that resonate with diverse audiences and honor cultural significance.
